Simon Taylor’s lunchtime interview with Nigel Mansell in the December issue brought back a special memory of meeting Nigel at a Honda dealer function in Adelaide just before the 1985 Australian Grand Prix. Nigel had just arrived from South Africa following his second Grand Prix win, and when I told him he had made the front cover of Motor Sport he asked me to show it to him.
As he read the write-up of his great win over Senna in the European GP at Brands Hatch for his first F1 victory, I could not help thinking what a special moment I was sharing with him. That autographed issue of Motor Sport has a very special place in my library. Keep up the great work. Motor Sport is still the Bible of our great sport, even in this far-off land.
