German-based American Michael Gans claimed the Vintage Seaman Trophy at Donington in September with his 1928 Bugatti T35B.

Gans had only used the car three times since it was restored and it is thought that that car had not raced since competing during the 1950s in Poland.

It was supplied new to Poland and was raced there before and after WWII. It then had spells in collections in America and Japan. Gans acquired it in the late 1990s and had it restored using the Polish national racing colours of red and white.

Having won at Monterey in 2003, Gans also contested the Monaco Historique event earlier this year. Although he had competed twice before at Donington Park in a Lotus Elite, this was his first time in the UK with the Bugatti.
