Complete canon on the Riley Imp

Number four in the Riley Register series of histories and profiles is The Riley Imp by John Gathercole. There can be no more complete coverage than this. The author, a C of E clergyman who retired after 14 years as Archdeacon of Dudley, covers all aspects of the Imp, beginning with those raced and then on to all those which followed, by description, specification and photographs in the book’s 201 pages. So complete is this information that the bookmark carries two minor corrections and further data, plus two more pictures of a 1952 Imp about which last-minute data became available. This is a remarkable record, which historians outside the Riley fraternity should find useful. The foreword is by Victor Riley (whose mother owned an Imp).
