Run to the hills

Sir,

Once again a brilliant front cover in October, featuring the Ferrari 312T of Clay Regazzoni. [As a subscriber, Mr Bone’s issues carry our special subscription only front covers – Ed] The shot depicts everything that is no longer Formula 1 in terms of courage, bravery and excitement. Whether at Silverstone or anywhere else, fancy buildings, grandstands and so forth are simply props for a product that primarily delivers fat profits to a select few. A day at Prescott, for example, beats a whole season of F1 in my humble opinion, and at a minute fraction of the ticket price.

Thanks as ever for my monthly read – even though it has taken a while for a hillclimb to be mentioned!
