I was interested to read Mr. Littlewood’s letter to MOTOR SPORT, “A Shattering Tale”, and was surprised to read that he had so much trouble in obtaining a replacement windscreen in Germany for his Datsun 180B Estate.

Tudor Safety Glass Company Lmited, part of the Royal Doulton Group, manufacture replacement laminated windscreens and have an application list of over 600 models, including the Datsun 180B Estate. Whilst we are the leaders in the UK replacement market for laminated windscreens, we also devote quite a bit of our energy to exporting, particularly into Europe. Indeed, Western Germany is one of our principal customers where we have no less than ten customers importing our windscreens.

I feel sure that had he contacted one of these agents, he certainly would not have waited the almost unbelievable time of five months to have the windscreen supplied and fitted, tinted or clear!
