Deutschland über alles
Sir,
I am referring to “Matters of Moment” in your July 1988 edition. You will certainly not be able to listen to a crowd of youthful Germans singing Deutschland über alles as the national anthem starts with the following words Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit. The wording Deutschland über alles has been banned since 1945 for obvious reasons.
