The International Sprint Organisation are holding their annual weekend of short-distance record attempts for cars and motorcycles at Elvington Aerodrome, near the city of York, on October 11th and 12th. Classes for motorcycles will range from 50 c.c. to 1,300 c.c. and cars from 500 c.c. to unlimited capacity and record attempts will be made over distances from ¼ mile to 1 mile. Spectators will be admitted and this is a rare opportunity to see speeds of 180 m.p.h. or more being attained, as well as seeing the country’s top sprint machinery accelerating. Elvington Aerodrome lies a few miles to the south east of York.
