A fitting anniversary celebration for MGB

For a few weeks it looked like I wouldn’t make MG Live! at Silverstone this year, the 50th anniversary of the MGB. But thanks to a very kind invitation from Paul Latimer I found myself on the grid of the MGB50 two-driver race. His B, the earliest racer in existence, was superb around the flowing GP layout. Had he got a proper driver alongside him, Latimer no doubt would have found himself higher up the order…

A total of 600 competitors took to the track over the weekend and watching them were 15,000 spectators.

You may shudder at the thought of so many MGs in one place, but you’ve got to tip your hat to the MG Car Club for organising such a fantastic event.
