NIKI LAUDA broke a 20-year Ferrari jinx to win in the millionaires’ paradise. Chasing his 312T out of the impressive skyline is Peterson’s Lotus 72, both cars on wet tyres early in the race (centre picture). TOM PRYCE, top, showed impressive “tiger” in the opening stages, hanging the UOP Shadow grimly on to Lauda and Peterson. Emerson Fittipaldi, pictured above taking the Marlboro-McLaren through Casino Square, secured his Championship lead with a second place, cutting Lauda’s lead from 14 sec. to just over two. Jochen Mass’ Marlboro-McLaren hard upon the Lotus of Peterson, below, who’d lost time in the tyre-change roulette
