According to Douglas F. Long of Mather & Crowther, Ltd., film actress Jill Melford claims to have been the first person in Britain to fill up with branded petrol in the “Second Branded Petrol Era.”   If, as stated, Miss Melford really drove in this car clad as the hand-out picture shows her, and waited an hour for the pump (conveniently caught by the camera-man — what was he waiting for?)  to be unlocked at midnight, she is probably down with pneumonia.  What interest us is that the car is an Alldays, outside a certain Weybridge garage.  We note, too, that it is described as 1903, bears a 1904 V.C.C plaque, is said to be Miss Melford’s own, and to be “one of the oldest cars in Britain.”  (Curtains! — Ed)
