WRC Mexico: Neuville onboard

The World Rally Championship returns to action in Mexico this weekend (March 10-12) for the third round with its new regulations.

The dirt and dusty roads should show the true potential of the faster, stickier and more dramatic WRC cars, having been sliding around the slippery roads of Monte Carlo and Sweden so far.

Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville was quickest in the shakedown by 1.7s ahead of this weekend’s event – but he’s crashed out of winning positions in both rounds this season. That has allowed Sébastien Ogier to score his first win for M-Sport and Toyota to stand on the top step of the podium for the first time since 1999. Jari-Matti Latvala leads the standings, the first time in three years there hasn’t been a Sébastien on top of the pile.
