A host of Formula 1 champions have been confirmed for special appearances during next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Festival, taking place from 10–13 July, will mark a series of major motor sport anniversaries with daily tributes at Goodwood House, including rare appearances by some of the sport’s most iconic figures alongside the cars that defined their careers.

Among the headline attractions will be Saturday’s unprecedented assembly of seven F1 world champions, who will take to the balcony following a commemorative run up the Hill in machinery synonymous with their title-winning campaigns.

The confirmed line-up includes:

  • Alain Prost – McLaren MP4/2B
  • Emerson Fittipaldi – McLaren M23
  • Jackie Stewart – Tyrrell 003 and 006
  • Mario Andretti – Lotus 79
  • Nigel Mansell – Williams FW14B
  • Mika Häkkinen – McLaren MP4/13
  • Jacques Villeneuve – car TBC

Each driver will be reunited with their championship-winning machines in what is expected to be one of the most spectacular displays of Formula 1 history ever staged at Goodwood. The Saturday celebration will be hosted by Sky Sports F1 pundit Karun Chandhok.

The Festival’s opening day will honour Derek Bell with a special appearance marking the 50th anniversary of his first Le Mans victory in 1975. Bell will drive the Mirage-Ford GR8 he shared with Jacky Ickx at La Sarthe.

On Friday, motorcycle legend Carl Fogarty will take centre stage to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his 1995 World Superbike title. The four-time world champion will ride his iconic Ducati 916, before being honoured in front of Goodwood House.

The final day of the Festival, Sunday, will feature a tribute to Alain Prost, commemorating the 40th anniversary of his first F1 title in 1985. Prost will once again take to the Hill in both the McLaren MP4/2B and the MP4/4, before returning to the balcony for a closing ceremony.

Also on Sunday, fans will be treated to “The Ultimate Grid,” featuring a collection of F1 machinery spanning the sport’s 75-year history, from classic grand prix cars to modern championship challengers.
