Audi finished an exciting 1-2 at Silverstone on Sunday in the opening round of the 2013 World Endurance Championship.
Toyota had locked out the front row in qualifying, but in last year’s car they were no match for the current-spec Audis. The winning car of Loïc Duval, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish diced for the lead with last year’s champions Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer, finally taking it for good with five laps to go. McNish charged back after a spin to make up 30 seconds within 30 minutes and become the sixth Scot to win the RAC Tourist Trophy.
