A one-mile dirt oval was opened at Bainbridge Fairgrounds in June 1946. NASCAR’s top division visited in July 1951 when Fonty Flock’s year-old Oldsmobile led from pole position to victory. It stopped holding car races after that season and the renamed Grandview Race Track was principally used for horse racing until it closed in 1969. The outline remained visible until a shopping mall was built on the site in 2006.
