The Light Car Club of Australia and Victorian Sporting Car Club organised a race meeting at the Ballarat Airfield on 27 January 1947. The 3.2-mile temporary layout was used again during the early 1950s before falling into disuse once more. A planned meeting in 1960 was cancelled due to poor weather before it staged the 1961 Victorian Trophy. That was an international meeting that attracted the likes of Graham Hill, Innes Ireland, Ron Flockhart and race winner Dan Gurney. The Ballarat Air Strip was not used again for motor racing.
