Bay Meadows was a horse racing venue built on an old airfield in the San Francisco Bay area. It opened in 1934 and was the longest continually operational thoroughbred track when it closed to make way for a property development in 2008. The one-mile dirt oval held a round of the AAA National Championship in 1950 and 1951 and hosted NASCAR’s senior series from 1954-56.
