This short oval built by Tom Lillis was known as Baltimore-Washington Speedway when it opened in July 1965. A NASCAR Grand National race was held a month later. Bobby Isaac won at the renamed Beltsville Speedway three times before the series moved on after his 1970 victory. Local residents complained about the noise, so a sound wall was built around the speedway, with silencers required during the 1978 season. However, those measures were insufficient, and the venue closed at the end of the year and was demolished.
