The Automobile Club de Cannes organised minor grand prix races on the temporary Circuit de la Riviera in Super-Cannes in 1928 and 1929. “L’Auto” described the tight course as comprising the “boulevards of Super-Cannes (Grand Boulevard, boulevards Beausoleil and Saint-Antoine)” in its 31 March 1928 edition. The circuit ran anti-clockwise with the startline on the Grand Boulevard de Super-Cannes. Louis Chiron beat the similar Bugatti T35C of Edouard Bret in the final in 1928. Bret triumphed a year later although the entry was disappointing.
