Casale 1928

Casale

The 1.

The 1.5-mile Autodromo di Casale Monferrato was opened on 19 March 1973 when Arturo Merzario drove an unofficial 61sec lap in his Ferrari 312B2. It held rounds of the Italian F3 Championship for three years but plans for an extension to hold international events were shelved. Falling spectator attendances and noise protests forced the circuit to close at the end of 1976. Plans to reopen in 1980 were unsuccessful but enough of the tarmac were renovated in 2022 to feature in Michael Mann’s Ferrari biopic.
