The Circuito di Gelso Bianco was a tortuous 36kms route that twisted through the Sicilian hills inland on roads from the start in Catania’s Piazza Palestro. It was fast despite the roads being narrow and unmade, and a sharp lefthand bend at Motta Sant'Anastasia’s railway station. The Automobile Club di Catania staged the Coppa Etna on three occasions during the 1920s.
