Randall Park Raceway was one of three horseracing venues within a one-mile radius, ten miles southeast of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Opened in 1908, it featured a one-mile dirt trotting track which enclosed a seven-furlong grass track. It eventually closed in 1968 to be redeveloped as a shopping mall. Randall Park held a non-championship AAA dirt track race on 2 June 1929, which was stopped after 85 of the 100 scheduled laps when Chet Gardner broke a wheel and the crowd spilled onto the track. Wilbur Shaw’s Miller was declared the winner with Deacon Litz second.
