Corbin Motor Speedway is a quarter-mile paved oval which has had a chequered history since it opened in 1952. Originally built as a half-mile dirt track, it was the first Kentucky venue to hold a NASCAR Grand National race when Lee Petty prevailed two years later. However, the series did not return for Corbin closed on 29 August 1954. There were some events during the 1960s before it reopened in 1973 in its current configuration.
