Denver, Colorado held two Champ Car races during the early 1990s on a tight downtown street circuit with Al Unser jr the winner on both occasions. Uniquely, the pits were situated on a corner and the high altitude posed particular problems for the teams, especially for cooling and brakes. The race returned a decade later on a new course around the city’s Pepsi Center.
