The Automobile Club du Grand Duché de Luxembourg staged a minor Grand Prix on a triangular temporary course adjacent to the country’s Sandweiler airfield in 1939 and from 1949-52. The circuit featured the fast downhill Kaltgesbruck righthander and descends steeply to a hairpin at Neudorf. The road climbed through woodland on the return to another “trickily humped hairpin” before the start. The race was initially for sports cars before 500cc Formula 3 headlined the 1951 and ’52 editions.
