The Igora Drive motorsports complex is a Hermann Tilke-designed circuit approximately 40 miles north of St Petersburg. It opened in 2019 with a round of the DTM German touring car championship announced for the following season only for that event to be cancelled due to coronavirus. Contracts to replace Sochi as venue for the Russian Grand Prix from 2023 were agreed with Formula 1, with an extension planned to the south. However, the GP was cancelled following the country’s invasion of Ukraine so national touring cars have been the headline series thus far.
