The circuit outside the small southern town of Lédenon was the vision of Jean-Claude and Sylvie Bondurand when inspired by the recently opened Circuit Paul Ricard. They acquired a former grass track set in a natural bowl in 1971 and used private means to build this undulating, anticlockwise facility over the next two years. It opened on 16 June 1973 and has been a mainstay for French national championships for over four decades while remaining in family hands.
