Lime Rock

Lime Rock Park in rural northwest Connecticut has been one of North America’s premier sports car circuits since it first held an IMSA race in 1972, traditionally on the Memorial Day holiday weekend. It opened in 1956 in the rolling Litchfield Hills. Early local resistance lead to an injunction from the Connecticut Supreme Court forbidding racing on Sunday which remains in place. Lime Rock was acquired by Skip Barber in 1984 and refurbished in 2008 with the only revisions to the original layout. It is the third oldest natural road course in operation in the United States after Elkhart Lake and Willow Springs.
