Formula E returned to London in 2021 after a five-year absence on a temporary circuit at the ExCel exhibition centre. Set on the banks of the River Thames at the Royal Victoria Docks, the starting straight and pitlane are inside the arena, with most of the circuit on the grounds outside. The race was originally scheduled for 2020 but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
