Poland's only international race was organised on the narrow and dangerous streets of Lwów (Lviv) by the Małopolski Klub Automobilowy. The many sharp corners caused frequent accidents and kept average speeds down to around 50mph. A circuit was opened in 1977 near Poznań, but international racing has not visited since the 1930s. It was ceded to the Soviet Union at the end of World War II and is now the largest city in western Ukraine.
