Lyon-Parilly

Lyon had already held two of the classic French Grands Prix to date when a simple circuit using a dual carriageway in the Parilly suburb was chosen for 1947. It was a bumpy affair with a hairpin at each end. Monegasque veteran Louis Chiron won for Lago-Talbot as continental motor racing rapidly recovered from the ravages of World War II.
