Raleigh Speedway was the second SuperSpeedway to be built in America after Darlington and the first facility to hold a floodlite NASCAR night race. A “paper clip” shaped facility with 16-degree banked curves, it closed in 1958 due to complaints of noise polution and was demolished in 1967.
