Independence Park is the original public space in central Rosario that is home to museums, the jockey club’s racecourse, and Newell’s Old Boys football club. It held international motor races for four years in the immediate post-war years. Suspicions that race winner Achille Varzi and Luigi Villoresi colluded in their staged dice for the lead of the inaugural 1947 race were denied. The circuit was resurrected in the mid-1960s and held a round of the F3 Temporada in 1966.
