Nestled in a beautiful valley above the famed Austrian city, the Salzburgring is surrounded by wooded hillsides that form natural grandstands. Formula 2 and the European Touring Car Championship visited regularly during the 1970s, and it was home to Austria’s motorcycle Grand Prix until 1995. A round of the World Touring Car Championship was held here from 2012 to 2014. Two fast sections are joined by slow turns at each end, although these straights are now broken up by two chicanes.
