Introduced in 1907 to rival the Grand Prix de l’Automobile Club de France, the Kaiserpreis was a one-off event for modified 8-litre touring cars organised at Taunus. The circuit used part of the 1904 Gordon Bennett Trophy course and a huge field of 92 cars made qualifying heats necessary. Italian star Felice Nazzaro won the race for Fiat at an average speed of 52.489 mph but the event was not repeated again.
