Teretonga Park

Teretonga Park is situated five miles southwest of Invercargill on New Zealand’s South Island. It was the country’s second purpose-built racing circuit when it was opened by the Southland Sports Car Club on 30 November 1957, and it remains the oldest still in operation. Its annual international event was a round of the Tasman Cup from 1964-75, with a winners’ list that includes the likes of Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Bruce McLaren and Jackie Stewart. It held the New Zealand Grand prix for Formula Ford 1600 and Toyota Racing Series from 2002-07. Its southern location and proximity to the sea makes for unpredictable weather conditions.
