The Twin City Motor Speedway was an imposing concrete oval that was built in 1915 at a reputed cost of $900,000. It only operated for three seasons before closing. The local aviation enthusiasts were already using the infield as a runway and it is now the site of Minneapolis and St Paul International Airport.
