Proper old-school Monte Carlo Rally weather returned for the 2026 running of the event, won by the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 of Oliver Solberg. The 24-year-old, Swedish son of 2003 World Rally champion Petter Solberg only made his bow with the Japanese manufacturer’s factory team on last year’s Rally Estonia as a one-off. He sensationally won that, earning a full-time drive for 2026 in place of the departing Kalle Rovanperä, and repeated the trick six months on. Solberg is pictured during the penultimate day of action, during which he extended his lead to a minute. “This was the most difficult rally I’ve done in my life,” he bubbled after clinching victory the following day. “It’s my first rally on Tarmac in the car and here we are, winning the thing.” Elfyn Evans finished second; Sébastien Ogier third.
