Computer Games

One of the best video games I have ever come across with regard to motor racing has recently been produced by Artronic Products Ltd. of 1-3 Haywra Crescent, Harrogate, HG1 5BG.

Called Fast Lane the game enables you to compete in the entire World Sports Prototype Championship as a member or the Spice works team, the object being to win the C1 Drivers’ championship. The difference about this game compared to others! have come across is that there are so many variables. You can choose to be one of four drivers: Gordon Spice, Ray Bellm, Wayne Taylor or Thorkild Thyring; you must decide on the car’s set-up before the race, such as deciding on the front and rear wing settings and the choice of tyres, and during the race, tyres, gearbox, body panels, and even engine, may necessitate calling into the pits. Night driving is part of each race so headlights have to be switched on, and at Le Mans, the race lasts 50 laps, an event I have not even managed to finish yet! For owners of the Atari ST and Amiga, it is a must for the kids (so that you can play it yourself). WPK
