Paris-Dakar legend recalled

Enthusiasts for Alpine-Renault throughout Europe are behind a profusely illustrated biography of the brilliant works driver Jean-Luc Therier, whose career came to a sudden end when he was paralysed in a dreadful accident in a Citroen on the 1985 Paris-Dakar raid.

Jean-Luc Therier – 20 Years of Rallying – 1965-1985, written in conjunction with his co-driver Jacques Jaubert and published this month, is packed not only with his own memories and anecdotes, but also with contributions from many of rallying’s greats.

Profits from the book; a must for all rally fans, will go via a trust to improve Therier’s quality of life. It is available from Jacques Jaubert, Promocourse International, 14 Rue Lesault, 93500, Pantin, France. Td: 00 33 1 48 59 68 47.
