Plans are going ahead for a “pilot” race meeting of the Bristol M.C. and L.C.C. at Castle Coombe on July 8th. This event will take the place of the calendared Naish Hill Climb and it will take the form of a “try-out” of the circuit. There will be six races, including one for “specials,” saloons, sports cars and “500s.”

This year the Cemian Motor Club Gymkhana is being held at the College of Estate Management Sports Ground, Hinchley Wood, on July 30th, at 2 p.m.

Owing to the suceess of this event in the past during petrol restrictions the organisers have decided to limitthe entries to 50, in order to avoid swamping. It is open to members of any recognised motor club and consists of a series of amusing contests in lighter vein.

The 500 Club’s Good Loser’s Trophy, given by the late Comdr. C. A. Yorke, R.N., has been presented to D. F. Truman. Truman is racing again this year, his Bardon Special having been rebuilt with independent suspension all round, 2LS Girling brakes, Elektron wheels, retaining a single-cam Norton engine.

A North Eastern Section of the Veteran C.C. has been formed, with the blessing of the London headquarters. Liaison has been established with the North West Section and the main event will be the Hull-Scarborough run on September 3rd. The Mayor and Corporation are giving full support. Secretary : D. The Citroen Car Club has issued another edition of its “Carolinian.” It has 150 members.
