Cuba to host first classic car rally

The first classic rally to be sanctioned by the Cuban authorities will run in August. Called the Cuba Classic Car Rally, the 10-day event will cover 1600 miles on the island, starting and finishing in Havana.

The touring event is split into nine days of driving and one rest day, with between 90 and 230 miles covered each day.

“This two-week adventure is the pinnacle of classic touring,” said the organiser John Brigden. “Where others have floundered in abject failure, we have an agreement from the top to run the first car rally on this unique island.”

Entries at 15,500 Euros are available and details are at www.wwccr.com
