A brace of wire-wheeled Ferrari 250LMs, driven by Le Mans winners Richard Attwood and Jackie Oliver and John Surtees/ David Piper will head a sensational entry for the RAC Tourist Trophy Celebration, centrepiece of Goodwood’s Revival on September 15-17.
Ferrari hopes in Sunday’s hourlong double-driver enduro also rest with the fast 330 LM/Bs, crewed by the ultra-strong pairings of Patrick Tambay/Willie Green and Derek Bell/Peter Hardman.
Former Grand Prix drivers abound in the entry. Alan Jones, 1980 World Champion, races an Aston Martin DB4, Danny Sullivan is in a Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe, Jochen Mass returns in a fearsome Chevrolet Corvette, Brian Redman is reunited with Red Rose Motors’ Jaguar E and Tiff Needell shares Aston Martin Project 212. Desire Wilson, the only woman to win an Fl race, partners Nick Mason in his 250 GTO. MP
