Weekend of endurance draws packed field to Spa

The event surrounding the Historic Six Hours at Spa is now one of the busiest classic race meetings of the season. The 2003 edition was no different, with hundreds of entries across the packed three-day programme. The headline event, running into the darkness of Saturday evening, turned into a Ford GT40 contest as the car of Aaron Hsu and sometime TGP front-runner Christian Glasel emerged with a...

Action-packed meeting kick-starts the season

The Historic Sports Car Club's 2002 season began in fine style at Donington Park in early April with bumper grids and close racing being the order of the day. Some highlights included Simon Cranad's tail-happy BMW 2000 taking the HRSR/HSCC Historic Saloon Championship spoils, despite severe pressure from Miles Townshend's Mustang that only eased when the big Ford fell back because of overheating...

Winning Ed

Historic Formula Junior Edwin Jowsey added yet another Formula Junior victory to his growing tally at Snetterton in late July. He romped to victory in the AMOC Miller Oils Championship round, winning by more than a minute once the similar Lotus 22 of Mike Hibberd had retired. Paul Smeeth (Lotus 22) led the chase.

Simon does it again, but not so simply this time

HSCC: Donington Park Simon Hadfield began his 2003 in fine style by registering two wins at Donington Park in April. Victory in his ex-Keke Rosberg Chevron B40 at the HSCC's season-opener followed a win in the Cloth Cap enduro at the previous day's JCC meeting with David Clark aboard their Elva Mk7. Hadfield surged past the Lola T400 of Edwin Jowsey at the Old Hairpin and was never headed again...

Around the tracks

Wolf huffs and puffs but Juniors bring house down Top Hat Festival: Donington Park The FORCE Classic Grand Prix Car races pitched Formula One cars against F5000s, and the opening race developed into a battle between Mike Littlewood (Wolf WR1) and Peter Williams (March 761). Littlewood led from the start and was breaking away from the ex-Brian Henton March until the traffic got in his way. An...
