Motor Sport Christmas gift guide: prints

Part four of our Christmas gift guide, this time shining the spotlight on prints

Brian James

You may well have seen Brian James’s work before, but may not have known. He’s been commissioned by BMW, Salon Privé, the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Royal Automobile Club among others. Many of his paintings are available as limited editions prints, too, including this lovely image of a Ferrari 166MM.

From £75 – Historic Car Art

F1 Opus

Featuring many of Formula 1’s cars and liveries since 1950, the Opus print is limited to 250 – from the obscure to the obvious. Naturally, the print’s going to need a big wall – it measures 174cm by 50cm and is printed on luxurious 270gsm heavy weight satin paper. [ed – it’s bigger than me!]

£99 – Motor Sport

Hans Sures Studio

These are pretty special. Many are limited to just 50, some are original pencil sketches; London-based Hans Sures captures dirt-track bikes, post-war world motorcycle championship racer Harold Daniell, stunning ‘bikes and even tools. They’re available unframed in A1 or A2.

From £95 – Hans Sures Studio

Revs Art

The work of Reverend Adam Gompertz, as a hobby, he’s redrawn a Land Rover, Bugatti, Austin Healey and this Volvo P1800. He’s even been on Songs of Praise, while at Goodwood. Innovative and unique.

From £95 – Historic Car Art

Another popular and familiar set of prints. Automobilist create distinctive prints with a modern twist on motor sport history, brought to you from the same people behind the Uniques & Limited Gallery. They recreate scenes – from the Targa Florio to pre-war Nürburgring – via CGI, 3D modelling, real-life photos and much more for prints that cost hundreds. This range is rather cheaper…
