Just as new cars are revealed with flashy new liveries and sponsors, the drivers have got creative with their own designs.

A vast number of drivers have completely changed their crash helmet paint schemes over the winter, while others have stuck with what they know.

And this is just the beginning. Ahead of the first race of the 2020 season, F1’s governing body, the FIA, announced that drivers would now be free to make “unrestricted variations” to their helmet design, so they can bring a different one to each race — or even each session.

For now, we’ve compiled a gallery of all of the 2020 driver helmets revealed ahead of the start of the season.

Lewis Hamilton has introduced a “purple dove” design, while Max Verstappen will run a white, gold and orange look in 2020.

Carlos Sainz has brought back his 100th GP design and it might be a tough task to tell the AlphaTauri pairing of Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly apart — both drivers opting for red and white detail between sizeable AlphaTauri logos.

Daniel Ricciardo opted for a Kobe Bryant tribute during test one while George Russell is undecided on what his 2020 crash helmet will look like. Both updated designs will be added to the gallery once both have finalised their 2020 look.
