Start line changed for Le Mans 24 Hours
The start line for the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit and the Bugatti circuit will be moved 145 metres up the pit straight. This move has been made to ensure that all cars are lined up on the straight when the flying start begins for the Le Mans 24 Hours and similar races, avoiding cars being caught in the middle of the Ford chicanes. Bike races will also be affected by the change.
The finishing line’s position remains unaffected. Le Mans helpfully adds, “To calculate the distance covered by the cars/bikes, people will have to do the following sum: subtract 145 metres from the number of laps covered multiplied by the length of the circuit in question.”
