Monte Carlo, May 10th

With the Argentine races being cancelled the Monaco G.P. became the first round in the World Championship series and the first occasion when all the Grand Prix teams brought out a full complement of their latest cars. A break from tradition was the dropping of early morning practice, all three practice periods being in the afternoon, and another change was the addition of a Junior Formula race on the Saturday afternoon.
