To win the Le Mans 24 Hours is a huge achievement. To win onboard a Porsche 917 in 1970, with only one co-driver and suffering from measles, is nothing short of astonishing. Richard Attwood did just this, alongside many other notable sports car successes and a stint in Formula 1. He still races today at places such as Goodwood, and he is still winning. However, some of the most fascinating parts of Attwood’s career came during testing the early 917 – a monster of a car that “wanted to kill him”. He’s a straight talker and always provides a fascinating insight into the world of motor racing.
Don’t miss your chance to get up close and personal with Le Mans legend Richard Attwood during our exclusive ‘Brunch With…’ session, allowing you intimate access to the man who helped put the Porsche 917 – one of the world’s greatest ever racing cars – into the spotlight by securing its first victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1970. This is your chance to ask questions, enjoy Richard’s tales first-hand and find out more about a glorious period of racing from a man who was at the top of his game throughout it. Back for it’s second year, the Peter Best’ Classics at Braxted Day 2022 will be bigger and better than before, with up to 1000 cars attending.
All types of vehicles are more than welcome to attend. Whether you drive a classic, modified, supercar or something else, bring it along for others to admire.
As well as vehicles from various car clubs and motoring enthusiasts, there will also be a static display of several rare and interesting vehicles.
Meet fellow car club members and motoring enthusiasts, experience an array of delicious food served by a variety of vintage food venders throughout the day and admire the wonderful mixture of displays from classics through to modern day collectable vehicles.
Don’t worry if you don’t own a classic, modified or super car, you are still more than welcome to attend our event.
