Movie star Keanu Reeves will return to the world of Formula 1 storytelling with a new multi-part documentary series chronicling the creation of the Cadillac team.

The actor and motor sport enthusiast will serve as host and executive producer of the unscripted series, which promises unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to General Motors’ bid to join the F1 field next year in partnership with TWG Motorsports.

The project will reunite Reeves with production company North One following the success of Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, an Emmy-winning Disney+ series he fronted in 2023.

His new venture will follow the journey of the Cadillac F1 team as it prepares for its entry.

Reeves described the opportunity as a “remarkable” chance to tell the story of an American team building an F1 operation from the ground up.

“Our goal with the docuseries is to bring audiences into the heart of this journey and showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world,” he said.

The series, made possible through exclusive access granted by GM, TWG Motorsports and Cadillac, promises to offer viewers a close perspective on the technical, logistical and human challenges of entering grand prix racing.

It is being developed by Simon Hammerson – director and executive producer of the Brawn project – alongside three-time BAFTA-winning producer Neil Duncanson.

“This is a story of bold ambition and relentless drive,” said Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports and the Cadillac F1 team.

“We’re honoured to work with Keanu, whose passion and knowledge of racing run deep. We have an opportunity to welcome a new generation of fans to Formula 1—and Keanu’s creativity is the perfect spark to ignite that journey.”

No release platform or date has yet been announced, but the project coincides with growing US interest in Formula 1, which has seen a dramatic rise in popularity through Drive to Survive and more recently Brad Pitt’s F1: The Movie.
