A CAR BREAKER?
Sir,
For a number of years I-have taken a keen interest in .motor racing. and have been a supporter of Stirling Moss. This is, of course. justified when considering his driving achievements and the prestige he has given to the U.K. in International events, However, after a long -argument in his favour the other day. I read your February issue, to find the same old tale.
Quote for South African G.P. : ” Moss dominated the race . . . just before the end of the race, when victory seemed certain, a fuel.
injection pipe split on the Borgward unit in the Moss car. and he was slowed.” Again in the New Zealand G.P. : Moss set the pace. only for something to break mechanically.
This sort of thing has been going on for so long that it does indicate a lack of appreciation of the car’s capabilities. I am forced to ask : Is Moss a good driver with a super jinx, or’ just a very fast one ? I am, Yours. etc.,
